Pillsbury Reservoir CLOSED to all motorized watercrafts

n response to the recent discovery of golden mussels (Limnoperna fortunei), an invasive, non-native freshwater/brackish bivalve, in the Sacramento - San Joaquin Delta, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is implementing immediate interim protective measures to prevent potential infestation of its waterways. Effective immediately, PG&E is proactively closing access to motorized watercraft at Lake Pillsbury. At this time, non-motorized watercraft, such as kayaks and paddleboards, are also still allowed. Please CLEAN, DRAIN, & DRY all non-motorized vessels prior to launching in the reservoir.

Additional information can be found on the California Department of Fish and Wildlife website: California&rsquos Invaders: Golden Mussel (2024). https://wildlife.ca.gov/Conservation/Invasives/Species/Golden-Mussel
